Unbeknownst to you and the other visitors, the dungeons have been commandeered in order to conduct a ruthless experiment, to test a new variant of the zombie virus, by releasing the infected amongst the living! As you stumble through the dungeon passages, your only hope for escape is to work together to find your way out!

The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us and the world needs survivors. Do you think you could be one, or will you become just another anonymous zombie?

Word is that a somewhat obscure organisation known as HARVERTECH has commandeered the world famous York Dungeons and is now conducting ruthless experiments on hapless tourists visiting the attraction! They say it is a necessary evil in order to help find a cure and fight against the zombie threat and you can bet they are government funded, but its not exactly ethical to intentionally be unleashing the virus upon the innocent in an enclosed environment…is it?

Is ‘for the greater good’ really applicable in this situation? If it’s you finding yourself in the dark depths of these dingy dungeons desperately fighting for your life you probably won’t think so! Chances are that your companions who also find themselves trapped with you won’t either so your best chance for survival will be to work together to find a way out!

Welcome to the newest and most intensely physical and mental immersive Zombie Experience out there! You will be challenged like never before as you face the zombie threat with your trusty weaponry and also escape room like puzzles that will test your mental mettle! Are you ready for some extremely fast paced zombie mayhem whilst you feel as though you are drowning in the dark? Are you prepared to face the fear?!

Upon arrival at the ‘York Dungeons’ you will immediately be swept up into an immersive horror story line based in a zombie apocalyptic world! Your character believes you are there to have some simple fun visiting the local attraction the York Dungeons. Sure it’s supposed to be a little bit creepy, but things are about to get truly terrifying!

Turns out you and your fellow tourists are about to become guinea pigs in a zombie virus testing experiment! A new form of the virus is about to be released into this 2000+ year old dungeon, previously a fun place to visit now about to become a serious hell-hole as you run for your lives or is that stumble (?) as things are definitely dark down in the dungeons past sunset!

You will face escape room like challenges but also will be able to locate weaponry to help you fight off the zombie threat! You will need to work together and with team work, a little luck and a significant amount of ammunition, maybe, just maybe you will survive!

Zombie Dungeon Experience York Weapons

The replica weapons used are lifelike blank firing pistols and instruction will be provided to all participants to ensure safe handling and use.  You are going to love facing the zombie threat with one of these bad boys at the The Dungeon Zombie Experience in York! Or perhaps you’d like to consider a weapon upgrade (just +£10 more). If not already sold out, these can be added to your order when you book.

All weapons are provided at Zombie Experience events and it is prohibited to bring your own. This is to both keep the scenario in character as intended, and to ensure safety for all. Whilst the weapons are important, you’ll need to use stealth and brains as well as shooting in order to accomplish your objectives.

What is the minimum age?
You must be at least 12yrs of age to participate in a York Dungeons Zombie Experience. All attendees <18yrs of age must be accompanied by at least one adult.

How long does the zombie experience last?
The zombie experience at the York Dungeons lasts for approximately 75 minutes and runs on selected Friday & Saturday evenings.
How do I book?

You can book directly into an event by choosing the date and timeslot that suits you or you also have the option to purchase a gift card which gives you or the recipients time to decide on a date and book in.
How long do gift cards last?
So far the Zombie Dungeon experience has dates up to September, until later dates are confirmed, gift card validity is only up to and including September 2019.
Do I have to be athletic?
No, we work with all shapes, sizes and abilities, but please be aware that this experience is not suitable for pregnant women or anyone unsteady on their feet and it is recommended to wear old clothing and suitable footwear with ankle protection.
